Electrical Estimator

About the Role

This position is focused on producing precise, competitive quotations for panel build projects across multiple sectors. The role supports the organisation’s growth by helping secure work and deliver projects successfully.

Key Responsibilities

• Build thorough and accurate cost estimates, tender submissions, and commercial proposals.
• Examine technical drawings, specifications, and tender packs to understand scope and requirements.
• Carry out quantity and material take-offs for assigned projects.
• Gather pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, then compare and assess the quotes received.
• Review project risks and look for practical cost-reduction opportunities.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and customers to confirm scope details and expectations.
• Participate in site inspections, pre-tender discussions, and client meetings when needed.
• Make sure all estimates align with relevant industry standards, legal requirements, and internal procedures.
• Keep cost records and pricing schedules current and well organised.
• Support value engineering exercises and propose alternative design options where appropriate.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Previous hands-on experience in an electrical estimating position.
• Confidence in reading and understanding technical drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of estimating tools and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong numeracy, analytical thinking, and accuracy in detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
• Capacity to handle several tenders at once and perform effectively under tight timelines.
