Entry-Level Programmer

About the Role

Largeton Group is hiring a junior programmer to join its Microsoft development team in New York, NY. The role focuses on building, testing, supporting, and maintaining power-system-related applications using Microsoft-based tools and frameworks. It is a strong fit for a recent graduate or an early-career candidate with basic programming exposure and an interest in working with technologies such as C#, .NET, SQL Server, and Angular.

The selected candidate will collaborate with experienced developers, analysts, and other stakeholders to help deliver software that is dependable, secure, and able to scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design, coding, testing, debugging, and upkeep of software built on Microsoft development platforms.
• Build and improve web, desktop, or API applications using C# and the .NET ecosystem.
• Contribute to database work by creating and validating SQL queries, stored procedures, and data checks in SQL Server.
• Take part in code reviews, unit testing, and troubleshooting to maintain software quality and performance.
• Work with the team to understand business needs and convert them into technical solutions.
• Prepare documentation for technical designs, code updates, and support processes.
• Assist with deployments, problem resolution, and day-to-day production support.
• Develop knowledge of secure coding practices, source control, and software development lifecycle standards.

Required Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), or a similar discipline, or equivalent hands-on training.
• Basic understanding of object-oriented programming and core software development principles.
• Some exposure to Microsoft technologies such as C#, .NET, ASP.NET, Angular, or SQL Server through classes, internships, academic work, or personal projects.
• Working knowledge of relational databases, data structures, and debugging methods.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and communication skills.
• Comfort working in a team-based environment and openness to learning new technologies.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience from an internship, co-op, or project in application development.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum ways of working.
• Exposure to Power Platform, Power BI, or Microsoft 365 development concepts.
• Basic understanding of application deployment and version control workflows.
• Relevant coursework, certification, or technical training in Microsoft development tools is an advantage.

Technical Skill Areas

The role is centered on Microsoft application development, database support, and collaborative software delivery. Candidates should be comfortable with programming fundamentals, troubleshooting, and learning modern development practices while working in a team environment.

Additional Information

This is an on-site position with an interview process conducted in person. The work is focused on applications related to power systems.
