Role Overview
The Environmental Services Aide plays an important part in keeping hospital spaces clean, safe, and welcoming for patients, visitors, families, and staff. This role supports a positive care environment by maintaining sanitation standards across assigned areas.
Key Duties
- Keep patient and staff areas consistently clean and sanitary through routine upkeep.
- Identify and handle additional cleaning needs that arise outside normal maintenance tasks.
- Collect waste and dispose of trash properly.
- Clean spills, marks, and smudges from a variety of surfaces.
- Restock and maintain cleaning supplies.
- Follow safe handling procedures when using cleaning materials and supplies.
- Apply proper practices for working with cleaning chemicals.
- Provide courteous, professional service when interacting with patients, families, coworkers, and visitors.
- Carry out other related tasks as needed.
- Contribute to an excellent overall patient experience within the hospital.
Experience and Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Prior experience in cleaning or custodial work is preferred.
- A compassionate, caring attitude is important for success in this role.
