Role Overview
This position is centered on managing equipment activities across inventory, trade, and local offices so operational needs and customer requirements are met efficiently. The role includes overseeing stock levels, assessing maintenance needs, improving equipment use, and supporting ongoing enhancements in container management processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with inventory, trade, and local office teams to track equipment availability, export allocation, demand patterns, and container grades so daily operational and customer needs are satisfied.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment movement and ensure all related systems are updated correctly.
- Monitor local office performance against KPIs such as average empty idle days, repair turnaround time, and release of empties according to FIFO principles.
- Track detained units and containers that remain laden for extended periods until they are returned to the depot.
- Inspect containers visually in detail and document any damage, wear, or structural concerns with supporting photographs.
- Coordinate with maintenance and repair teams, and liaise with external vendors when repair support is needed.
- Confirm that containers satisfy required safety and structural standards, including watertightness and overall soundness.
- Check that repaired containers pass quality and safety checks before they are returned to service.
- Review equipment utilization reports to reduce empty idle time and related expenses.
- Compile clear and timely reports on equipment inventory and repositioning costs.
Candidate Profile
- A bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, or a closely related discipline is required.
- Applicants should have 2 to 3 years of experience in the same industry.
- Intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Office is expected.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work well with both internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Comfort with working with numbers and handling project-related tasks.
- Must be able to work independently and perform well under tight deadlines.
