Role overview

A university in Dublin city centre is hiring a proactive and highly organised Executive Officer to support its central Academic Registry team. The role sits in a busy, student- and faculty-facing environment and is suitable for someone who enjoys detail-heavy administrative work within higher education.

The Academic Registry supports the full student journey, from enrolment through to graduation. In this position, you will combine data administration, record management and direct service support for students and academic staff, helping ensure processes run accurately and on time.

Key duties

  • Work with student information systems and advanced Excel tools to enter, update, review and retrieve student records, registration details and exam outcomes.
  • Investigate and resolve detailed queries about academic matters, registration and fees through email, phone and face-to-face interactions.
  • Support access to student portal accounts, solve online enrolment problems and guide users through digital academic platforms.
  • Handle important student lifecycle tasks such as module enrolment, issuing official transcripts, and processing deferral or withdrawal requests.

Experience and skills needed

  • At least one year in a busy academic administration role, or substantial experience in a fast-paced administrative environment with heavy data handling.
  • Strong Microsoft Office capability, especially Excel for sorting, filtering, reporting and working with large datasets.
  • Clear written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to explain policies and procedures in a calm and considerate way.
  • Excellent accuracy when dealing with numerical and written information, alongside confidence working with complex institutional rules.
  • A practical, positive approach to problem-solving and the flexibility to perform well under pressure and deadlines.

Working arrangement

This is a fully onsite position based in Dublin city centre, with a five-day in-office schedule.

Pay and engagement

The role pays €16.20 per hour, with wages issued weekly through Brightwater. It is a temporary assignment running until the end of September 2026.

Eligibility

Applicants must already have the right to work in Ireland for the full duration of the contract, as visa sponsorship is not available.
