Compensation

Base pay for this role is listed at CAD 60,000 to CAD 70,000 and the position is eligible for commission income. TD notes that compensation is designed to be fair and equitable, and the starting salary may differ depending on skills, experience, professional knowledge, location, and other business requirements.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Financial Planner who is energized by helping mass affluent clients reach their goals through comprehensive financial advice and planning. This position is suited to someone who enjoys building meaningful client relationships and creating a positive impact through financial guidance.

What You Will Do

• Develop trusted relationships with clients by understanding their personal and financial objectives, performing detailed financial reviews, and providing ongoing support.
• Use data and insights to review outcomes, shape recommendations, and assess the effectiveness of financial programs, policies, and practices.
• Work closely with your colleagues to deliver on shared goals, improve the client experience, and maintain a high standard of service.
• Track productivity and service delivery, look for efficiency improvements, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
• Keep up to date with industry best practices and new trends in financial planning.
• Support peers by sharing knowledge, coaching where helpful, and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
• Maintain a strong focus on risk awareness and control in line with the organization’s risk appetite.
• Participate actively as a team member and help sustain a positive, service-focused workplace.

Candidate Profile

• A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in banking services is preferred, especially experience handling client relationships and providing customized investment advice.
• Willingness to secure Registered Representative (RR) licensing with the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) if not already licensed.
• Commitment to earning the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation within the first three years in the role.

CFP Eligibility

To be eligible for the CFP designation, a university degree is required, or one of the following alternatives must be met: up to 10 years of qualifying work experience, or at least 5 years as a QAFP professional in good standing at the time of application.
