General Service Worker

Role Overview

This position is responsible for carrying out general upkeep and preventative maintenance across store buildings and other convenience-store equipment at assigned locations. The role supports Circle K’s operational standards by keeping facilities safe, functional, and presentable.

Key Duties

• Handle routine and preventive maintenance on store buildings and equipment, including tasks such as dumpster repairs, minor carpentry, floor fixes, restroom repairs, pothole patching, sign installation, trash removal, door and lock repairs, decaling, and lighting work.
• Take on maintenance assignments directed by the Facilities Director or relayed by Maintenance Coordinators.
• Perform pressure washing, painting, and similar work on store assets to help maintain a strong visual standard.
• Keep the assigned work schedule organized and up to date.
• Support special assignments and projects as requested by management.
• Travel as needed, including overnight stays, to complete maintenance work.
• Attend field visits and meetings when requested by management.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with internal teams, outside vendors, and customers.
• Follow company and department policies, procedures, and work standards.
• Carry out other duties assigned by management to support the success of the area.

Requirements

• High school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong practical understanding of HVAC systems, refrigeration, and convenience-store equipment; certification is not mandatory.
• Prior experience with restaurant equipment repair is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of general construction and building maintenance practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work independently on a daily basis.
• Comfort working as part of a team and maintaining a professional attitude.

Physical Requirements

• Capability to drive a truck or similar vehicle.
• Ability to climb ladders to reach equipment and facility areas.
• Ability to lift heavy items and equipment.
• Ability to use a range of tools and construction equipment.
• Willingness to travel long distances and remain overnight when required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in spoken or written form with associates, vendors, and customers.
• Capacity to work in stressful situations.

Work Environment
