Primary Duties
The Houseperson helps maintain the cleanliness of guest corridors, elevators, and other designated spaces. The role also includes delivering guest-request items such as luggage, irons, and coffee to rooms, and assisting housekeeping teams with tasks when needed.
Education and Experience
A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is preferred, along with experience in a hotel or a related environment. A valid driver’s license for the applicable state is required where the property specifies it.
Physical Requirements

Essential Job Expectations
The selected candidate is expected to interact with guests and colleagues in a courteous, attentive, and service-focused manner, follow hotel and company standards, maintain professional appearance and grooming, and support safe and efficient hotel operations at all times.
Regular attendance based on the hotel’s scheduling needs is required. The employee must remain warm, helpful, and professional throughout the shift, use proper two-way radio communication, and follow all procedures for handling keys, lost-and-found items, trash removal, and maintenance reporting.
Daily work includes walking assigned floors at the start and end of the shift, clearing newspapers, trays, ash urns, linens, and trash, and identifying areas needing immediate attention. The role also involves vacuuming guest corridors, collecting trash from service landings for proper disposal, assisting with guestroom cleaning procedures if needed, and supporting housekeeping with items such as bedboards, roll-away beds, and flipping mattresses or beds.
