Role Overview

The Human Resources Assistant supports the HR function through day-to-day administration and coordination. This role helps keep employee records accurate, assists with onboarding and employee lifecycle tasks, and provides general support to the HR team and wider business.

Core Duties

  • Prepare and run employee reports on a weekly and monthly schedule, ensuring they are completed correctly.
  • Organize welcome packs and support onboarding and orientation for new starters, maintaining clear communication throughout the hiring process.
  • Carry out first-day onboarding and orientation for new employees.
  • Record new job openings in the ATS platform and keep vacancy data up to date.
  • Maintain employee information within HR systems.
  • Keep master labor budget data current and accurate.
  • Coordinate with other departments so employee information is shared and actioned properly.
  • Support recruitment and interviews when required.
  • Archive documents in the correct employee files.
  • Respond to employee questions and requests as part of HR customer service.
  • Submit online background investigation requests and help arrange pre-employment checks, including background and drug screening.
  • Update HR spreadsheets with employee change requests and process the associated paperwork.
  • Assist with employee exit and termination processing.
  • Support the HR and Talent Manager with research and special projects.
  • Arrange meetings and interviews as requested by the Talent Acquisition Manager.
  • Handle photocopying, faxing, and other routine clerical work.
  • Take on other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in corporate support or human resources.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to stay effective under pressure in a fast-moving environment while keeping a positive, accountable, and improvement-focused attitude.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

  • Manage starter, leaver, and employee change processes.
  • Monitor the HR inbox, respond to HR queries, and take appropriate action.
  • Work with payroll to ensure starter, leaver, and employee changes are reflected correctly and trackers are updated.
  • Support administration of employee benefits across EMEA.
  • Assist the EMEA HR team with employee relations cases.
  • Add probation reminder notifications to managers’ calendars.
  • Support administration of sickness absence, maternity, and paternity cases.
  • Help line managers with performance-related matters, including performance improvement plans.
  • Continue supporting first-day onboarding and orientation for new hires.
  • File documents in the appropriate employee records.
  • Assist the EMEA HR team with projects as needed.
  • Carry out other assigned duties.

Additional Preferred Skill

  • Ability to communicate in Dutch is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of information technology services is also preferred.
