Role overview
Qualcomm Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. is hiring an IT Engineer in Singapore to deliver hands-on technical support across end-user devices and selected test equipment environments. The role focuses on keeping desktop and mobile technology running smoothly, resolving complex incidents, supporting service improvements, and maintaining reliable IT operations.
Key responsibilities
- Offer advanced support and troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and related IT hardware.
- Investigate and fix difficult issues involving operating systems, applications, networking, and physical hardware.
- Carry out root cause analysis on repeated incidents and put long-term corrective actions in place.
- Work with other IT specialists when problems need deeper technical expertise or cross-team coordination.
- Keep service desk documentation accurate, including incidents, requests, and knowledge base entries.
- Contribute to IT initiatives and process improvements that strengthen service quality and efficiency.
- Track and manage IT assets, including equipment inventory and lifecycle records.
- Prepare and provision computer hardware such as laptops, desktops, monitors, and related accessories.
- Support administration, troubleshooting, and setup of ATE equipment, including Advantest and Teradyne tester systems.
Experience and skills
- At least 3 years of experience in IT support or a closely related discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience diagnosing operating system or software issues, including root cause analysis and debugging.
- Strong practical knowledge of Windows 10/11, basic networking, Active Directory, and remote support tools.
- Customer-focused approach with a strong commitment to end-user service quality.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical users.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Comfort working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Preferred knowledge
- Practical exposure to Advantest V93000, T2000, or comparable ATE platforms.
- Familiarity with semiconductor test environments and hardware interfaces.
- Experience working in Linux environments and using scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Shell for automation.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Alternatively, 1+ year of IT-related work experience with a bachelor’s degree in a non-technical subject such as Business, Humanities, or Marketing.
- Alternatively, 3+ years of IT-related work experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.
