SSC Services for Education is seeking full-time Janitors right away for a school-facility setting in St. Petersburg, Florida. The role is based at the University of South Florida at 830 1st Street Southeast, Saint Petersburg, FL 33701, with additional openings possibly available at other locations within the school district. Schedule and pay

This is a Monday through Friday role from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Full-time and part-time scheduling flexibility may be available to fit staffing needs, and additional schedule details can be discussed during the interview.

The fixed pay rate is $17.00 per hour.

What the job involves

The Janitor will keep buildings tidy and organized by carrying out heavy cleaning tasks such as floor care, rug shampooing, wall and glass cleaning, and trash removal. The position calls for attention to sanitation, safety, and consistent upkeep of assigned spaces.

• Remove and dispose of waste according to approved procedures and infection-control standards.
• Dust and damp mop floors using the required methods.
• Shift furniture and equipment to clean properly, then return items to their correct places.
• Clean assigned areas using provided supplies and equipment, and disinfect surfaces as needed.
• Follow the eight-step cleaning process.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and similar surfaces to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Identify areas that need cleaning and take initiative to complete them.
• Carry out all work assigned by the supervisor.
• Follow all applicable federal, state, and county rules.
• Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors, and shampoo carpets.
• Work cooperatively with the team and maintain professionalism with customers, coworkers, and others.
• Perform any other duties assigned.

Requirements

• Prior janitorial experience is preferred.
• Ability to complete heavy cleaning duties and follow cleaning and safety procedures.
• Willingness to work in accordance with federal, state, and county guidelines.
• Capability to work professionally with others and contribute to a team environment.
• Certain roles may require a Florida Level 2 background screening.
• Applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
