Role overview
Tommy Gun's Mayfield Common in Edmonton is looking for a full-time Lead Barber / Mentor to guide the barber team by coaching, setting standards, and delivering a polished customer experience. This role is expected to lead by example, represent the brand professionally, and help the shop meet its goals while supporting directions from shop leadership.

Requirements
- You should be a certified Journeyman Barber or Hair Stylist, or actively working toward completion of an apprenticeship.
- Strong customer service skills are needed, with a focus on consistently exceeding guest expectations.
- You must be comfortable in a busy, fast-moving shop environment.
- A solid understanding of current industry trends and grooming styles is important.
- Clear communication and flexibility for shift-based work are required.
- You should have strong technical ability across haircuts, fades, modern styling, and shaving services.
- Retail upselling knowledge and chair-side education skills are expected.
- The ability to build productive relationships with shop managers, educators, and fellow barbers is important.
- You should be confident providing one-on-one training and coaching.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests, learn their preferences, and carry out thorough consultations.
- Recommend suitable styles based on face shape, taste, and hair type.
- Deliver high-quality barbering services including clipper cuts, fades, natural necklines, texturizing, and customized finishes.
- Build long-term relationships with repeat customers.
- Keep workstations clean and sanitize tools regularly.
- Use chair education to increase retail sales opportunities.
- Deliver the expected Tommy Gun's guest experience consistently.
- Help improve barber performance through coaching and mentoring.
- Train and educate other barbers on techniques and service standards.
