Lead Platform Engineer

About the Role

This position is for an experienced Lead Platform Engineer who will shape, deliver, and support modern software components, cloud-native infrastructure, and release pipelines for an Industrial IoT environment. The role suits someone who enjoys automating workflows, creating dependable and scalable systems, and working closely with others where infrastructure and application development intersect.

What You'll Do

• Act as the technical lead for software engineering and DevOps practices across agile development teams.
• Design, build, and support CI/CD pipelines along with GitOps-based delivery flows.
• Develop and operate containerized workloads on Kubernetes.
• Write automation scripts and supporting tools to streamline delivery and operations.
• Contribute to software development work when needed by applying programming skills.
• Introduce and maintain infrastructure-as-code and configuration management approaches.
• Help shape technical choices related to deployment methods, monitoring, and observability.
• Maintain strong standards for security, compliance, and infrastructure best practices.
• Prepare and keep up-to-date technical documentation for systems and processes.
• Work closely with development, SRE, and platform engineering teams.
• Improve performance, reliability, and cost effectiveness across systems.
• Guide and mentor teammates in DevOps methods and practices.

Profile

• You bring at least 10 years of substantial experience across software development, DevOps engineering, and cloud infrastructure.
• You can work independently in a structured way and also coordinate tasks within the team.
• You have programming knowledge in C# and TypeScript, with Python as an added advantage.
• You are experienced in Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• You have practical exposure to GitOps workflows, especially ArgoCD.
• You are comfortable using CI/CD tooling, particularly GitLab.
• You have worked with cloud environments, especially AWS.
• You understand infrastructure as code, with Terraform experience.
• You know monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• You are open to supporting development initiatives and cross-functional work.
• You have strong documentation habits and an eye for detail.
• You communicate well, solve problems effectively, and bring a proactive, automation-focused mindset.
