Role Overview

UNIQLO is looking to add a full-time Loss Prevention Associate to its St. Vital Centre store in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The role sits within a global apparel brand known for functional, high-quality clothing offered at accessible prices.

What You’ll Do

  • Carry out loss prevention programs and store-level protection procedures in collaboration with store leadership and the Area Loss Prevention Manager, with the goal of safeguarding company assets and maintaining a safe environment for customers and staff.
  • Support the Store Manager and Area Loss Prevention Manager in training store employees on prevention policies, operating procedures, and related initiatives.
  • Identify shoplifting activity, take safe recovery or apprehension action in line with applicable federal and provincial laws, and follow company and department rules. Assist with ongoing investigations into internal theft and policy breaches, and keep case files updated in the department system without delay.
  • Help drive shrink-reduction measures with store teams and senior LP leadership, then monitor progress across the inventory cycle and report updates to the Store Manager, Area Loss Prevention Manager, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Use tools such as CCTV, access control, EAS, and exception-based reporting to spot safety and shrink concerns, including dishonest behavior inside and outside the store.
  • Work with the store RFID inventory system and deliver ongoing training to team members. Resolve operational issues alongside the store team, Area Loss Prevention Manager, and the LP Inventory Accuracy team.
  • Provide hands-on support for financial inventories and RFID-based cycle counts as directed.
  • Maintain regular communication with LP colleagues and help coordinate information flow between store teams and other departments to surface recurring issues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of related experience in loss prevention or asset protection, preferably in a multi-unit setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of Canadian federal, provincial, and local rules related to apprehensions, safety, and loss prevention practices.
  • A valid provincial licence is required for this position.
  • Hands-on experience with internal investigations, exception reporting tools, and external apprehension programs.
  • Ability to work with law enforcement and legal professionals on both criminal and civil matters.
  • Familiarity with loss prevention technologies and methods, including CCTV, covert surveillance, EAS, access control, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Understanding of inventory management systems and inventory accuracy principles is an advantage, especially with RFID.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, good time management, and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-moving environment, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and G Suite.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for an entire shift and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Regular travel within assigned locations is required, with occasional additional travel depending on business needs.

Benefits

  • Employee discount across all UNIQLO Canada retail locations.
  • Medical and dental coverage.
  • Opportunities for career growth and salary progression for consistent high performers.
  • Hourly pay in the range of $21.00 to $25.00, depending on experience.
