About the School
The dePaul School for Dyslexia is an independent, specialized school in Clearwater, Florida that serves children from kindergarten through 8th grade who have dyslexia and other language-based learning challenges. Its mission is to help students build both academic skills and personal confidence so they can succeed in school and beyond.

Role Overview
The school is hiring a Math Teacher to work under the Principal. This position is centered on teaching math to students with language-based learning differences in an environment where student needs guide instructional decisions. The school also emphasizes ongoing professional learning so staff stay current on effective approaches for teaching learners with these differences.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver math instruction for students in grades 5 through 8 who have language-based learning differences such as dyslexia and dyscalculia.
- Step in to teach another subject when needed.
- Monitor student progress and adapt lessons based on what the class needs.
- Set clear routines and behavior expectations for managing multi-age classrooms.
- Assess academic and social development, maintain grade records, and complete report cards.
- Keep parents informed through regular communication about student progress and updates.
- Continue building professional skills through ongoing development and training.
- Remain adaptable to schedule changes and shifting student needs.
- Supervise students during activities outside the classroom when required.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required.
- Prior teaching experience is required.
- Experience using manipulatives in instruction is preferred.
- Background working with children who have language-based learning differences is preferred.
