Plant Operations Manager

Role overview

This position is responsible for running a manufacturing site end to end. The role focuses on delivering efficient production, keeping maintenance and distribution running smoothly, and ensuring finished products reach the market effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the location’s cost of goods sold.
• Prepare, get approval for, and monitor the annual plant budget.
• Track and control empties inventory as well as dispatches of finished goods.
• Oversee all production and maintenance activities at the site.
• Manage warehousing, finished goods inventory control, shipping, and logistics.
• Handle production planning and ensure operations stay on schedule.
• Maintain control over raw material and packing material inventory.
• Ensure equipment upkeep, along with the availability and management of spares.
• Identify opportunities for plant improvement and lead execution of those projects.
• Recruit, coach, provide feedback to, and develop plant employees.
• Help set team targets and support achievement of performance goals.
• Maintain discipline across the workforce.
• Be accountable for the safety and security of people, facilities, and equipment.
• Liaise with external stakeholders including local authorities, legal bodies, local media, and community or interest groups.
• Set and deliver key performance indicators for the plant.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including labor, pollution control, fire and explosives, safety, and electrical installation requirements.

Qualifications

The role requires a B.Tech or M.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation engineering.

Experience

Candidates should have 12 to 15 years of experience.
