Role Summary
The company is looking for a nearly qualified or recently qualified Pricing Actuary to join its expanding team in the UK & Ireland life reinsurance space. This person will take ownership of quotation work, contribute to research and development, and help strengthen client relationships.
The position offers exposure to a leading reinsurance pricing function, a solid commercial learning environment, collaboration with data scientists on advanced prediction models, and opportunities to work closely with senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the expansion of the UK & Ireland Protection team.
- Assess and price protection business with speed and accuracy.
- Work closely with Client Partners to help achieve commercial objectives.
- Contribute to research on mortality and morbidity trends across the UK and Ireland.
Required Skills and Experience
Technical capability, behavioural strengths, work history, and actuarial qualifications are all important for this role.

Qualifications
- Experience with life pricing in reinsurance or insurance.
- Strong analytical ability with a practical approach to solving complex problems.
- Capability in data validation and documentation.
- Working knowledge of R coding or a similar programming language.
- Sound understanding of actuarial mathematics and how to apply it in practice.
- Careful attention to detail and a structured approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- High motivation and comfort working through ambiguous situations, including unclear data.
- Commercial mindset and the ability to handle complex work independently.
- Good time management skills and the ability to balance several priorities.
- Strong accountability, interpersonal ability, and self-management.
- Excellent spoken and written English, including the ability to explain technical matters clearly to internal stakeholders.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in life pricing within reinsurance or insurance.
- Fellow or Associate membership of an internationally recognized actuarial society, with nearly qualified candidates also considered.
