Project Manager

Role overview

We are working with a general contractor to find a Project Manager for construction projects based in Houston, TX. This position covers the full project lifecycle, from preconstruction all the way through closeout. The role is suited to someone who likes owning outcomes, coordinating multiple moving parts, and contributing to safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery.

The Project Manager will oversee budgets, timelines, subcontractors, client communication, and day-to-day project coordination. It is a strong fit for a builder who wants responsibility and enjoys solving problems across every phase of a job.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction work from preconstruction through closeout, keeping safety, schedule, and budget objectives on track.
• Promote and monitor safety and quality practices, including participation in site visits and inspections.
• Coordinate daily execution, work through field challenges, and ensure work aligns with drawings, specifications, and client expectations.
• Support estimating tasks such as takeoffs, proposals, and subcontractor bid review, along with buyout and contract administration.
• Track project finances, including budgets, forecasts, change orders, vendor invoices, and owner billing.
• Assist with permits and help ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and contract terms.
• Keep project records current, including RFIs, submittals, schedules, and closeout documentation.
• Work closely with Superintendents and field personnel to support smooth project delivery.
• Attend OAC, subcontractor, and internal meetings to monitor progress and keep stakeholders aligned.
• Develop and sustain strong working relationships with clients, design professionals, and subcontractors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or comparable experience in the field.
• 4–8+ years of experience managing construction projects.
• Background supporting or leading projects from preconstruction through completion.
• Strong abilities in organization, communication, and problem-solving.
• Comfort using construction software such as Procore and Microsoft Office tools.
