The opportunity
Auckland Council’s Purchasing team, part of the Procurement Department, is seeking a Purchasing Support Coordinator for a permanent full-time role. This position is based in Auckland and plays a part in supporting the delivery of essential services across Tāmaki Makaurau.
The role is centered on delivering accurate purchasing assistance across procurement activities, with the aim of reducing time, cost, and risk while keeping internal stakeholders well supported.
Key responsibilities
- Process purchasing activities in SAP, including raising and maintaining purchase orders, handling requests for new vendor setup, and supporting payment processing.
- Build and sustain positive working relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
- Assist project managers by reviewing and investigating purchase order commitments.
- Use knowledge of purchasing systems to give feedback and test system improvements as part of ongoing enhancement work.
About you
To succeed in this role, you should bring 2 to 4 years of experience in a similar position and be comfortable applying your skills in a busy, changing environment. Experience in the local government sector would be an advantage.
The ideal candidate will be confident with SAP, committed to strong customer service, and able to manage priorities well while performing under pressure.
