Role overview
This position is for a Quality Engineer supporting a major West Apron Vehicle Underpass project at Dublin Airport. The role sits at the centre of the project’s quality assurance and quality control effort, with responsibility for making sure civil engineering works are delivered in line with project specifications, contractual obligations, and ISO 9001 requirements.
You will help implement the project quality management system, monitor inspection and testing activity, and support the delivery of compliant earthworks, drainage, pavements, and structural concrete works.

What you will do
- Maintain accurate quality assurance records for the project.
- Support both internal and external audit activities.
- Help manage material approvals, testing, and quality control so that construction materials meet specification requirements.
- Carry out and oversee quality inspections of materials and workmanship to confirm compliance with project standards, building codes, and contractual requirements.
- Prepare reports promptly and provide updates when requested.
- Work with colleagues across teams to resolve quality issues, exchange good practice, and support continuous improvement.
- Identify non-conformances in products and processes and ensure corrective and preventive actions are defined and put into practice.
- Record inspection outcomes and findings, including any legal documentation required.
- Support responses to audit bodies and regulators so that certification is maintained and improvement is sustained.
- Contribute ideas for solving identified issues and improving outcomes.
- Help develop strategic approaches to improve productivity.
- Assist with training and guidance for staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practice.
- Follow company policies and procedures relevant to the role, including equality, sustainability, environment, health and safety, and data protection.
Requirements
- You must have the right to work in the UK.
- A BSc degree or equivalent third-level qualification in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is required.
- You should have at least 2 years of experience in a similar position.
- Previous experience on civil construction projects is essential.
- You need the ability to oversee inspections for earthworks, drainage, pavements, and concrete works.
- You should be familiar with inspection and test plans and testing standards.
- Experience reviewing material approvals, technical submittals, specifications, and method statements is needed.
- You should have worked with registers, documentation, and information review processes.
- Knowledge of control plans, measurement system analysis, and statistical process control is required.
- A working understanding of UK construction standards and site practices is expected.
- You should understand system engineering and control principles.
- Knowledge of statutory procedures relevant to structures and civil engineering, including health and safety requirements, is required.
- Experience in quality assurance is necessary.
- You should be able to analyse problems logically and improve business processes and system performance.
- Comfort dealing with people at different management levels across multiple areas is important.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and quality management systems is required.
- You must be able to support the company in meeting statutory obligations related to quality and welfare at work, as well as applicable UK, EU, and international regulations.
- Experience implementing and auditing quality management systems is required.
