Role overview
We are looking for a Quality Manager to support a major European engineering contractor in Frankfurt, Germany. In this position, you will shape and maintain the project quality framework, including quality plans, manuals, procedures, documents, and related systems. You will also review specifications to determine inspection and test needs and turn them into practical project inspection and test plans.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the setup, day-to-day operation, and ongoing upkeep of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, as well as ISO 14001 requirements.
- Provide training to project staff on the contractor’s QA/QC plan for the project.
- Coordinate with the client so that quality standards and procedures are submitted, approved, and put into practice within the required timelines.
- Carry out audits and ensure follow-up actions are addressed.
- Support leadership by advising on quality assurance matters and project QA/QC concerns.
- Make sure all records, certifications, and close-out documents are finished and checked before final handover.
- Attend and coordinate weekly discussions with the client, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Manage document control by updating records and procedures to reflect changes in company policies and objectives while remaining aligned with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
- Monitor project QA/QC processes and help standardize them so they are incorporated into the company QA/QC manual.
- Review technical submissions and supporting documents from vendors and subcontractors.
- Perform off-site factory or prefabrication audits, including source inspections, when required under the project QA/QC plan and contract documents.
- Use SAP, Eida, Procore, BIM 360 Field, and similar systems to support your daily work.
- When needed, investigate major project incidents or issues using root cause analysis and share the findings with the relevant project team members.
Requirements
- A relevant third-level qualification or professional certification is required.
- You should be able to prepare clear and well-structured written quality reports.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint is necessary.
