仕事内容
About the company
Kalshi pioneered prediction markets, creating a platform where people can trade on future outcomes and express a view on almost any question as a financial position. The company spent years working to make prediction markets legal in the United States and now operates the fastest-growing financial market in the country, with markets spanning politics, economics, financials, weather, technology, AI, culture, and more.
The team’s long-term ambition is to help build the largest financial market in the world by turning uncertainty into tradable markets. Its mission is to spread more truth through the power of markets. The organization values highly capable people, intense effort, and the satisfaction that comes from building ambitious things together.
Role overview
Kalshi is looking for a Quant Researcher to help shape what comes next as the exchange grows. The role will focus on creating new indices, solving open-ended quantitative problems, and developing models that can be used directly in production. You will work on problems without established templates and collaborate closely with engineering, product, and trading teams.
The company recently became the first CFTC-regulated prediction market exchange and launched several notable products, including regulated perpetuals and KPOW, a political index. This position is meant for someone who can ramp up quickly, think independently, and contribute practical research that has real business impact.
What you'll do
- Design and own quantitative models that are deployed into live systems rather than only presented in reports.
- Create new indices and research frameworks for the exchange.
- Partner with engineering, product, and trading to solve complex problems that do not already have a standard solution.
- Get up to speed quickly on prediction markets and identify opportunities that others may have overlooked.
What we're looking for
- A highly independent, sharp, and practical problem-solver who can make progress without a detailed roadmap.
- Strong grounding in mathematics, statistics, and quantitative finance.
- Comfort working with derivatives; experience with risk concepts and VaR is a plus.
- Hands-on experience building Python-based statistical and machine learning models.
- A strong quantitative degree from a leading university.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience.
Compensation
NYC pay transparency: the expected salary range for this role is $150,000 to $250,000 per year, along with equity and benefits. If your compensation expectations are above this range, the company invites you to reach out for a discussion.
Culture
The organization emphasizes merit, ownership, and a willingness to solve difficult problems. It values people who think boldly, care deeply about their craft, and want to help build something both large and genuinely useful.
Team members are trusted from day one, reflecting a careful hiring process and a relatively flat structure with limited hierarchy and titles.
Equal opportunity
Kalshi is committed to inclusion and belonging and provides equal employment opportunities to all qualified candidates. Hiring decisions are made without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, uniformed service, veteran status, age, or other protected characteristics under applicable law.
