About the Role

China Communications Construction Co., Ltd. is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Singapore. This role involves managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from initial calculations to final figures. The Quantity Surveyor will work to minimize the costs by holding a firm grasp of building methods, materials, and the legal and contractual implications of the project.

Responsibilities

  • Review project drawings and perform quantity take-offs to prepare Bills of Quantities.
  • Collaborate with construction and design teams to generate documents for Request for Quotation (RFQ).
  • Identify and engage potential subcontractors and suppliers, issuing RFQs.
  • Organize, compare, and analyze received quotations, preparing comprehensive reports.
  • Facilitate communication and clarifications between tenderers and the construction team during the RFQ phase, including coordinating meetings.
  • Support the QS Manager/Contracts Manager in preparing tender submissions.
  • Coordinate post-tender interviews involving tenderers, construction, QS, and contracts teams.
  • Assist the QS Manager/Contracts Manager with quantity measurements and cost estimations for subcontractor administration, price comparisons, and negotiations.
  • Prepare contract documentation for selected subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Administer contracts, including valuing payments, managing variation claims, and settling final accounts with subcontractors and suppliers according to contractual terms.
  • Adhere to all CCCC policies, processes, systems, and procedures.
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the QS Manager/Contracts Manager.

Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or a comparable qualification.
  • A minimum of 3 to 4 years of relevant professional experience is required.
  • Prior tender experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with building, HDB, condominium projects, or projects of similar scale and complexity is advantageous.
  • Demonstrate strong capabilities in communication, analysis, negotiation, and time management.
  • Exhibit advanced proficiency in computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic, fast-paced setting with minimal supervision.
