Safety Officer

About the Role

The Safety Officer will take charge of site-level health and safety execution, making sure policies are followed and that employees as well as subcontractors work in a secure environment.

Work Location

The assignment location will vary according to project needs and may be anywhere within Saudi Arabia.

Experience Required

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Put health and safety rules into practice and ensure they are followed on site.
• Carry out routine inspections to verify compliance with safety standards.
• Spot possible hazards and propose practical corrective measures.
• Make sure personal protective equipment is used correctly and consistently.
• Look into accidents, incidents, and near-miss events, and document findings in detailed reports.
• Deliver safety training and awareness sessions for staff and workers.
• Oversee subcontractor operations to confirm they meet safety expectations.
• Check tools, machinery, and equipment for safety compliance.
• Work with project management and the appropriate authorities on safety-related matters.
• Keep emergency response procedures active and ensure readiness for drills, evacuations, and similar situations.

Qualifications

• A background in occupational health and safety or a closely related discipline is needed.
• A diploma or bachelor’s qualification in health and safety management is required.
• Prior experience in a comparable role in the construction sector is expected.
• HSE certification such as IOSH, OSHA, or NEBOSH is required.
