Our client is an established international contractor known for delivering highly technical and complex projects throughout Saudi Arabia.
About the Role
An experienced Senior Procurement Manager is needed for the Riyadh office due to ongoing expansion. This position offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the procurement and commercial performance of major construction projects while collaborating with accomplished project delivery and engineering teams. Professionals with background in Data Centre, Mission Critical, Industrial, or similarly complex building projects will stand out.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of subcontract package procurement across large construction programmes.
- Create procurement approaches that support the project schedule and commercial targets.
- Oversee the complete sourcing cycle, from market outreach and tendering to negotiation and final award.
- Develop and nurture effective relationships with subcontractors across Saudi Arabia.
- Partner with engineering, commercial, and project stakeholders to keep procurement aligned with successful delivery.
- Spot procurement risks and put practical mitigation plans in place.
- Review tenders, negotiate business terms, and prepare award recommendations.
- Track subcontractor delivery and monitor market movement.
- Guide and coach junior procurement staff when needed.
Qualifications
- A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related field is required.
- A background in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or another construction-related engineering discipline is an advantage.
- A minimum of 10 years of procurement experience with a reputable construction contractor is required.
- Demonstrated success in sourcing subcontract packages for major construction projects is essential.
- Prior involvement in Data Centre or other technically demanding projects is preferred.
- Strong understanding of the Saudi Arabian subcontractor landscape is necessary.
- Well-developed relationships with subcontractors in Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical trades are highly valuable.
- Excellent commercial judgement and negotiation capability are required.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills are essential.
- Experience working in Saudi Arabia is a strong plus.
