Solutions Engineer

Role overview

In this position, you will partner with the Service Provider sales organization to uncover the business and technical priorities of one of Cisco’s key Service Provider customers in Saudi Arabia. You will shape and present tailored Cisco solutions that support digital transformation, offering expert technical advice centered on customer outcomes. The role brings together enterprise networking, data center architecture, automation, and AI capabilities to help customers move toward autonomous, AI-enabled networks.

What you will do

• Act as a trusted technical advisor and solution architect for a strategic account.
• Lead the full technology vision across service provider networking, data center, cloud, automation, cybersecurity, and AI-driven operations.
• Design large-scale, highly scalable data center and enterprise network architectures that support future autonomous networking models.
• Drive AI-led network transformation by applying AI/ML and LLM-based approaches to assurance, planning, optimization, and operational workflows.
• Position agentic AI concepts for closed-loop decision-making, intent execution, and self-healing network outcomes.
• Integrate AI capabilities across transport, data center, cloud, and cybersecurity environments.
• Explain how AI improves network efficiency, cost control, resilience, and customer experience.
• Shape network automation and orchestration strategy using tools such as DNA Center, Nexus Dashboard, Cisco Intersight, and the Cisco Crosswork Automation portfolio.
• Work with account teams, product specialists, and senior leaders to influence roadmaps, investment decisions, and long-term transformation plans.
• Create and deliver technical proposals, solution architectures, and demonstrations with strong business value messaging.
• Lead proof-of-concepts, pilots, and solution validation efforts to speed up adoption and decision-making.

Experience and qualification requirements

• You should bring at least 3 years of proven experience in presales, consultative selling, or solution architecture, with a track record in routing, switching, data center, and cloud solutions.
• Hands-on expertise is expected in scalable, AI-ready data center environments, including compute, storage, networking, and Cisco ACI.
• You need strong knowledge of enterprise network design covering Cisco routing, switching, wireless, SD-WAN, SASE, and AI Ops / ML Ops, along with scripting or programming ability.
• Experience with service provider architecture across access, transport, data center, and internet technologies is required.
• You should understand how AI/ML models are used in networking for assurance, optimization, planning, and predictive operations.
• Familiarity with LLM-based systems for operational insight, automation, and decision support is important.
• Experience designing or positioning agentic AI frameworks for closed-loop, intent-based, and autonomous operations will be valuable.
• You must be able to translate customer goals into end-to-end Cisco solutions across multiple architecture domains.
• The role calls for the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong executive communication skills and direct customer engagement experience are essential, including consultative discovery, financial pain-point analysis, and value-based solution alignment.
• A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field is preferred.
• Cisco certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE, or equivalent vendor credentials, are preferred.
• Experience with enterprise networking solutions such as campus, branch, secure network design, access, wireless, WAN, visibility, and monitoring is advantageous.
• Understanding of data center technologies like hyperconverged infrastructure, cloud networking, fabric design, servers, unified edge, and SDN controllers is preferred.
• Knowledge of service provider routing and transport, including SR-MPLS, SRv6, mobility, and 5G core network design, is desirable.
• You should be collaborative, proactive, adaptable, and comfortable contributing as a team member with a growth mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, strong listening ability, and presentation skills are required.
• Experience in the Saudi Arabia market is highly desirable, and Arabic language skills are a strong advantage.

Working pattern and hours

This is a hybrid full-time role. The standard working time is 48 hours per week.
