Role overview
This FBI special agent opportunity is designed for professionals with an accounting or finance foundation who want to apply their expertise in national security and law enforcement. The posting is exempt from the federal civilian hiring freeze. In this role, your financial knowledge is used to support complex investigations involving cyber threats, terrorism, fraud, and other emerging risks. You will also receive specialized training, hands-on investigative exposure, and access to advanced tools that help strengthen your analytical and leadership capabilities.

- Carry out investigations into possible violations of federal law, cybercrime, and threats to public safety.
- Use sound judgment, adaptability, and initiative to handle varied investigative situations.
- Build and sustain working relationships with agencies at the federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international levels.
- Keep yourself physically prepared to meet the demands of law enforcement work.

Compensation
The stated pay range for this role is $103,236 to $133,200. Pay may vary based on base pay, locality, and availability pay.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. citizen.
- You must be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.
- You need to be available for travel as required.
- You must satisfy the FBI’s employment eligibility standards.
Education
A bachelor’s degree or a higher qualification is required. Preferred fields include accounting, business administration, finance, or forensic accounting, and the degree must come from a U.S.-accredited college or university. Transcripts are required to verify all degrees.
