About the Role
Early Start Australia is looking for a Speech Pathologist to join its Coomera clinic. You will become part of a close-knit allied health team backed by leaders who understand the day-to-day realities of the work. The role focuses on making meaningful differences for children, young people, and their families through flexible, supportive service delivery and ongoing professional growth.
What You Will Do
In this position, you will provide therapy services across clinic, home, school, and community environments as needed. You will complete client assessments, manage a varied caseload including more complex presentations, and use a case management approach to coordinate care. You will also develop, review, and refine individualised therapy plans that reflect client goals and changing needs.
- Carry out suitable assessments for each client.
- Manage a speech pathology caseload, including complex cases, through a case management model.
- Help select, maintain, and use assessment and therapy materials.
- Create, deliver, monitor, and adapt therapy plans based on client goals.
- Provide therapy in clinic, home, school, and community settings when required.
- Work closely with the broader allied health team to improve outcomes.
- Design and run group programs and parent workshops where appropriate.
- Protect client privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Follow current best-practice approaches and contribute to ongoing service improvements.
Therapy Program Development
- Complete initial client appointments and establish goals and support needs.
- Build targeted intervention plans with measurable outcomes.
- Work alongside other health professionals, including Speech and Psychology, when needed.
- Prepare resources and activities for home-based and session-based therapy.
- Plan sessions and update them as client needs change.
- Carry out school and home visits when suitable.
- Track progress, review goals, and adjust programs accordingly.
- Prepare reviews, reports, and referrals for additional services or group programs where relevant.
Documentation and Reporting
- Enter treatment notes and session activities into the practice management system within 24 hours.
- Prepare clear, timely, and high-quality reports for clients, families, professionals, and funding bodies such as NDIA.
- Make sure all reports and correspondence align with ESA standards.
- Record and escalate incidents or complaints using the appropriate systems.
Funding and Administration
- Ensure therapy planning aligns with the client’s available funding and funding type.
- Review NDIS plans where required to guide therapy decisions.
- Provide accurate service details to support correct invoicing.
Professional Growth and Teamwork
- Take part in team meetings, peer reviews, and case discussions regularly.
- Maintain accurate records according to organisational processes and manager direction.
- Use professional development opportunities to expand role-related skills.
- Build collaborative relationships with professionals and agencies through networking.
Organisational Expectations
- Comply with policies related to WHS, emergency procedures, child safety, and cultural competence.
- Participate in risk identification, assessment, and prevention activities.
- Keep discipline-specific registration or membership current and follow relevant codes of conduct.
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality in line with legislation and internal policy.

Qualifications and Compliance
- A relevant qualification in Speech Pathology.
- Current registration with AHPRA and SPA.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
- Current Working with Children Check or state-specific Working with Vulnerable People registration.
- National Police Check.
- Accredited First Aid Certificate.
