Role overview
Mars Snacking is hiring a Senior Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to lead the Accelerator portfolio, which covers Tasty & Wholesome and Better-for-You brands such as KIND, RX, Nature’s Bakery, and other purpose-led, culturally relevant businesses. This position is based in Chicago, Illinois and reports to the CFO of the Accelerator division.
This is a high-impact leadership role focused on shaping brand growth where purpose, performance, and cultural relevance intersect. The leader in this role will own planning, forecasting, performance management, and business decision support across the organization. Success in the role depends on strong financial judgment, executive presence, and a proactive mindset that turns data into insight, influences decisions, and improves results.
The Accelerator business is a global division within Mars Snacking made up of 5 business units, 12 brands, and approximately $4 billion in net sales.
What you will do
- Take ownership of the full FP&A cycle, including annual planning, forecasting, regular performance reviews, and long-range financial planning.
- Work closely with business leaders to identify risks, opportunities, trade-offs, and corrective actions that support stronger financial outcomes.
- Help senior leadership make better decisions around growth, productivity, investment, and how resources are allocated.
- Question assumptions, test business cases, and make sure financial plans are built on practical operations, sound logic, and measurable results.
- Provide accurate, timely, and transparent reporting on results versus plan, forecast, and the prior year, with clear explanation of key drivers.
- Support digital transformation efforts in close partnership with the global team.
- Find ways to simplify processes, improve controls, increase productivity, and strengthen overall financial discipline.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 5 FP&A professionals while setting high expectations for ownership, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Represent FP&A confidently in executive-level discussions, backed by data and a clear point of view.

What you bring
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA, CPA, or equivalent advanced qualification is preferred.
- Substantial experience in FP&A, finance business partnering, corporate finance, or a similar financial leadership role.
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-moving, results-driven environment.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams, raising performance standards, building capability, and strengthening accountability.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial planning tools; exposure to ERP systems, BI tools, and data visualization platforms is preferred.
Compensation
Certain states and localities require a reasonable estimate of the pay range to be posted. The current base salary range for this role is $233,000 to $290,000. Final pay will depend on factors such as location, experience, skills, performance, licensure or certification, and business needs. Compensation may differ in other geographic locations.
