About the Role
This position is responsible for leading execution of assigned portions of high-voltage transmission line works, specifically in the 765/400 kV range, while keeping productivity, timelines, budget, and quality firmly on track. The role calls for a strong focus on zero-harm practices, disciplined process compliance, and smooth coordination across site teams and external stakeholders to ensure steady project delivery.
What You Will Do
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor foundation, erection, and stringing activities so the transmission line package progresses as per schedule and quality targets.
- Review survey inputs and site conditions to confirm tower locations, routing requirements, extension needs, and crossing points such as highways and railway lines.
- Prepare and track L2 schedules, including weekly and monthly manpower and material planning for consistent execution.
- Compile daily and monthly MIS reports for management updates and project tracking.
- Apply Field Quality Plans, IS Codes, and CBIP manuals at site, and verify that materials and workmanship meet required standards.
- Implement occupational health and safety plans, conduct periodic safety trainings, and maintain a strong safety culture on site.
- Carry out routine quality and safety inspections to identify risks early and keep the project aligned with regulatory expectations.
- Maintain compensation documents, landowner agreements, and other administrative records, while securing all required approvals to avoid penalties.
- Work with government and local authorities, including Patwari, Tehsildar, and SDM offices, to address landowner and right-of-way matters.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors through regular review meetings to solve critical issues, control delays, and avoid unnecessary cost escalation.
- Support shutdown planning, permission processing, and communication with external stakeholders for timely site execution.
- Track project expenses, manage resources efficiently, and keep spending within approved budgets.
- Review vendor bills for correctness, approvals, and timely processing.
- Use project management tools and software to monitor progress, allocate resources, and improve communication across teams.
- Promote process improvements and innovation to strengthen project quality and execution outcomes.
Requirements
- B.E. or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
- 10 to 12 years of relevant experience in execution of 765/400 kV high-voltage transmission line projects.
- Practical experience in resolving right-of-way challenges.
- Working knowledge of safety requirements, statutory approvals, and regulatory compliance for transmission line sites.
- Ability to coordinate with internal teams, external authorities, contractors, and vendors in a structured site environment.
Additional Information
The role supports project engineering and external coordination with stakeholders such as STU, CTU, SLDC, and NRLDCT. It requires attention to quality, compliance, risk control, reporting, stakeholder management, and technology-enabled project tracking.
