About the Role

Johnson's Dry Cleaners, part of Timpson Group Limited, is hiring an experienced tailor to join its Harrogate team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys garment repair, alterations, and direct customer interaction. The position also requires flexibility to work across multiple Johnsons branches when needed.

Role Overview

You will support the Area Manager and local branches by delivering a reliable repairs and alterations service. The role combines technical sewing work with customer-facing duties, including fittings and discussing alteration needs.

Key Duties

• Carry out a wide range of garment alterations and repairs, including shortening and lengthening clothing items.
• Adjust garments by taking them in or letting them out to achieve the right fit.
• Replace damaged zippers and complete similar repair work.
• Handle curtain shortening and related tailoring tasks.
• Assist customers in branch, including during fittings and when explaining available services.
• Support colleagues and customers by completing one act of kindness each day as part of the company culture.

Working Pattern and Pay

This is a permanent full-time role based in Harrogate. The pay starts at £12.75 per hour and increases to £12.80 per hour after a successful trial period. There is also an uncapped weekly bonus opportunity. The schedule is 40 hours across 5 days, including weekends, and additional overtime may be available once training is complete.
