Role Overview
This position is for a Trayline Staff member, officially classified as Food Service Technician I, with the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services at Central State Hospital in Dickenson County, Virginia. The starting annual salary is $34,322, and the role is placed in Pay Band 1. Typical Duties
- Sanitize utensils and food-service equipment before use.

Minimum Qualifications
- Prior experience communicating clearly in both spoken and written form.
- Background working in a food service environment.
- Valid Virginia driver’s license or Virginia-issued ID.

All candidates must complete an extensive background investigation and pre-employment drug screening. The review may include fingerprint checks with State Police and the FBI, local agency checks, Department of Social Services/Child Protective Services checks, employment verification, and confirmation of education related to the role.
Under Virginia Code 37.2-314 and 37.2-408.1, the department cannot employ or use as volunteers individuals convicted of certain barrier crimes or those with pending barrier charges.
