Role overview
West Fraser’s Cochrane division is seeking a weekend cleanup labourer for an entry-level role. The position is focused on maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work area around mill equipment. This opportunity can also develop into a move to the Sawmill, Planer, or Treating Plant department.
What you will do
- Clear dust and debris from machines and the surrounding work area so equipment is ready for use.
- Handle larger cleanup tasks by operating a bobcat and bucket loader.
- Remove material from sawdust and chip bins.
- Use air blow-down methods to clean beams, pipes, motors, gearboxes, hydraulic units, and walls.
- Support millwrights with repair work when asked.
- Perform repeated lifting of 15–25 lbs and, at times, loads of up to 60 lbs.
- Work with hand tools as needed.
- Carry out duties both indoors and outdoors, including in changing weather conditions.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment at all times.
