Role overview
This position is for a welder supporting repair work on gas turbine components. The scope of the role may be adjusted by the assigned mentor as needed, and the intent is to help the selected candidate build the skills required to grow into a technical welding role.
Core expectations
The person in this role must follow all safety and quality standards, comply with applicable company policies, and consistently set a strong example through responsible work habits.
Key duties
- Carry out welding work for the repair of gas turbine parts in line with the applicable welding procedure specification (WPS).
- Complete repair tasks on gas turbine parts based on the provided work instructions.
Qualifications and experience
- A diploma, technical college qualification, or an equivalent credential is required.
- At least 3 years of experience working as a welder is needed.
- The candidate should have solid knowledge of welding processes and hold a valid welder qualification certificate from their current employer.
- Experience with stainless steel, nickel-based alloys, and cobalt-based alloys is required.
Preferred attributes
- Ability to understand and work from part drawings and process prints.
- Comfortable working independently or in close coordination with supervisors.
