Role overview
Integrated Power Services is hiring an in-shop technician focused on winding work in Regina, Saskatchewan. This hands-on role is suited to someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys solving technical problems, and wants to contribute to the reliability of equipment used by critical industries. The position supports a safety-first environment, with room for learning, long-term growth, and ongoing improvement.
What you will do
- Rewind different types of basic electromechanical equipment.
- Remove original windings and dismantle or strip damaged or non-serviceable equipment, including media blasting where required.
- Check equipment for winding defects and signs of electrical malfunction.
- Capture and document data related to electromagnetic characteristics, operating conditions, existing damage, and intended service use.
- Prepare reusable parts for rewinding and examine refreshed components for concealed structural damage or unusual conditions.
- Strip stators or other apparatus without harming the core or iron.
- Carry out voltage testing on rewound equipment in line with quality expectations and record the results.
Skills and experience needed
- Hands-on experience rewinding AC and DC electric motors.
- Practical background with windings, armatures, and synchronous rotor poles.
- Ability to understand and follow simple to moderately complex spoken and written instructions.
- Comfort learning and retaining operational, training, and safety procedures.
- Sound judgment for routine decisions within company standards.
- Ability to operate machinery and hoists.
- Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
