About the role
In this position, you will design and deliver tailored programs and services that help customers cut water and energy use, lift product quality, improve profitability, and protect natural resources. The role involves building trusted customer relationships, understanding business priorities, and creating water-related solutions suited to each environment. You will also travel to client sites across the South Island, spend time learning their processes, and collaborate with the technical support team to develop practical and innovative solutions.
This is a customer-facing sales role with the chance to create meaningful impact at every site you support. Your work will help improve production processes and lower the Total Cost of Ownership while supporting continuity of production. Regular travel, including overnight stays, is part of the job.
Key responsibilities
- Assess customer needs and develop customised water treatment and process management programs.
- Work with clients to improve water efficiency, energy usage, product quality, and profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, including senior stakeholders.
- Visit sites across the South Island to understand operations and identify solution opportunities.
- Partner closely with the technical support team to create and implement innovative solutions.
- Contribute to sales outcomes through solution-based customer engagement.
- Support reductions in total cost of ownership and help maintain production continuity.
- Travel regularly for customer visits, with overnight stays when required.
What we're looking for
- A tertiary qualification in a field such as chemical, mechanical, or industrial studies, or a trade qualification with electrical preferred.
- Interest in or working knowledge of water treatment systems.
- Confidence in communicating and working effectively with a wide range of people, including senior customers.
- Strong relationship-building ability.
- A willingness and capacity to learn quickly.
