About the Role

A distinguished global financial consulting firm, recognized for its international presence, is seeking a UK or Germany-based Accountant to join its Finance department. This role is integral to maintaining and advancing the company’s accounting and financial reporting infrastructure. As a key member of the Finance team, you will contribute to ensuring accurate financial reporting, upholding compliance standards, strengthening internal controls, and driving continuous improvements in finance processes and systems. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the upkeep and enhancement of the accounting and financial reporting framework, including policies, procedures, and associated processes.
  • Aid in the preparation of financial statements for group entities and contribute to the consolidation process.
  • Guarantee the completeness, accuracy, and consistency of financial data across all legal entities.
  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of internal controls within the financial reporting structure.
  • Assist in monitoring financial risks and ensuring adherence to internal policies and procedures.
  • Conduct and review reconciliations, promptly identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on various outputs from the Finance Team.
  • Facilitate compliance-related financial activities, such as preparing and submitting statutory financial statements, coordinating tax filings with internal teams and external advisors, and tracking audit recommendations.
  • Support adherence to relevant company laws, reporting mandates, IFRS or GAAP standards, and local tax regulations.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of annual external audits, preparing necessary documentation and liaising with auditors.
  • Help resolve audit queries and manage follow-up actions.
  • Support the management of relationships with external service providers pertinent to the finance framework.
  • Contribute to internal communication on financial matters.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Possess a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Have a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.
  • An initial professional qualification in accountancy or financial reporting is advantageous.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of IFRS.
  • Exhibit a conceptual grasp of statutory reporting and tax-related legal requirements.
  • Previous experience with auditing is required.
  • Familiarity with accounting systems (e.g., Xero) and advanced Excel skills are necessary.
  • Exhibit strong analytical capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Possess effective organizational and communication abilities.
