Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Accountant position based in Doha, Qatar. The Accountant will be responsible for managing daily financial operations, encompassing accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and expense tracking across various business units. Key duties include the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, supporting budget and forecasting initiatives, and assisting with cash flow monitoring. The role also involves ensuring adherence to internal controls, local regulations, tax obligations, and company policies, in addition to providing accurate documentation for internal and external audits. The Accountant will collaborate with operations, procurement, and management teams to deliver timely financial insights and contribute to the enhancement of financial processes and reporting.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong financial accounting and reporting capabilities, including hands-on experience with general ledgers, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, particularly with spreadsheets, pivot tables, and basic formulas, is essential. Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is also required. A solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cost control methodologies, ideally gained within diversified or multi-entity organizations, is preferred. Knowledge of local accounting standards, regulatory requirements, taxation principles, and internal control frameworks is necessary. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Effective communication abilities and the capacity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at various levels are important. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required; professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CMA are considered an advantage. Prior experience as an Accountant, preferably within real estate, hospitality, manufacturing, or holding-group environments, is beneficial. The ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain the confidentiality of financial information is crucial. Applicants must be willing to work on-site in Doha, Qatar, and be adaptable to a multicultural and fast-paced work setting.
