Role Overview
The Airside Executive is responsible for coordinating safe and efficient movement across the airport airside area. The role focuses on aircraft positioning, ground support readiness, safety compliance, emergency preparedness, runway and taxiway upkeep, and controlled movement of vehicles and personnel.
Key Responsibilities
This position requires close coordination with pilots, ground staff, maintenance teams, and emergency responders to keep daily airport operations running smoothly and safely.
- Guide aircraft to and from parking stands, taxi lanes, and runways while following air traffic control instructions whenever required.
- Track aircraft movement, maintain effective communication with flight crews and ground personnel, and address operational issues quickly.
- Check that ground support equipment is functioning properly and arrange routine maintenance as needed.
- Confirm that support assets such as tugs, baggage carts, and fuel trucks are fit for use and do not create delays to aircraft handling.
- Carry out safety checks, apply safety procedures, and train staff on essential airside safety practices.
- Watch airside operations for hazards and take immediate corrective action when risks are identified.
- Create and update emergency response plans, run emergency drills, and maintain communication with emergency services.
- Support evacuation procedures and assist impacted individuals during emergencies to reduce disruption.
- Plan and coordinate inspections, repairs, and debris clearance on runways and taxiways.
- Work with maintenance teams to keep all operational surfaces in safe condition and compliant with required standards.
- Oversee the movement of vehicles and personnel in the airside zone to prevent collisions and maintain orderly traffic flow.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in aviation management, airport operations, or a similar discipline, along with the required operational certifications and relevant airport experience.
Additional Information
Experience of 3 to 4 years in airport operations or ground handling is required. The role also calls for Airport Operations Management Certification and Ground Handling Certification.
