Job description

Role overview

This position sits within Banking APAC and supports client and capital strategy work across the region. The team helps determine how balance sheet capacity is deployed across clients, products, and markets, and contributes to key forums such as the APAC Capital Committee, ESG quality screening, client tiering, and account planning. The role is designed for someone who can turn strategic priorities into practical actions while working with senior leaders and regional stakeholders to support business growth and informed decision-making.

The opportunity provides exposure to regional capital allocation decisions and the chance to influence important business and deal outcomes across APAC.

About the employer

Mizuho Bank, Ltd. is part of Mizuho Financial Group, Inc., a Japan-based financial services group listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and NYSE. The bank serves clients through offices in major financial centres including Tokyo, New York, London, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

Team and location

Department: Asia-Pacific Corporate Banking Department
Section: Client & Capital Strategy
Location: Singapore

Key responsibilities

  • Work with APAC branches on client prioritisation and account planning to keep activities aligned with strategic goals.
  • Set up and run stakeholder meetings and discussions.
  • Review account plans, capture decisions, and record action points.
  • Follow up on action items, track progress, and report completion status to senior management.
  • Assess transactions for profitability, risk-weighted asset considerations, and fit with the account plan and wider Banking APAC strategy.
  • Help prepare recommendations for senior management.
  • Build recurring reports to support performance tracking and data-led decisions.
  • Assist in ESG risk assessment for relevant APAC deals and document the findings.
  • Contribute to Banking APAC projects and regional initiatives as needed.
  • Handle additional ad hoc tasks assigned by senior team members.

Candidate profile

The ideal applicant should bring strong analytical and problem-solving ability, along with clear written and spoken communication skills. A self-driven approach, attention to detail, and comfort in a fast-moving environment are important.

A background in banking, finance, or business analytics is preferred. Fresh graduates may apply because training will be provided. Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access will be useful. Candidates who also know data tools such as MySQL, Tableau, or data visualisation platforms, or who can program in Java, JavaScript, Python, R, HTML, or CSS, will have an advantage.
