Role overview
This position is based in Khobar, Saudi Arabia, and is an on-site role with EagleBurgmann Saudi Arabia Ltd. As an Application Engineer, you will act as a technical support partner for customers and internal teams, helping drive sales opportunities, resolve technical issues, and keep projects moving efficiently.
Key responsibilities
- Work confidently with customer specifications as well as API-related standards.
- Track and contribute to team and individual KPI targets.
- Interpret mechanical drawings and technical codes for daily execution of work.
- Represent the technical side of the business in customer meetings and presentations alongside the sales team.
- Coordinate with internal departments to support overall company objectives.
- Spot process or project bottlenecks early and recommend practical solutions.
- Collaborate with sales teams to create new business opportunities.
- Handle warranty cases in coordination with Service and Engineering teams while following company policy.
- Take ownership of internal follow-up so processes are completed within required timelines.
- Lead the resolution of customer complaints connected to contract matters.
- Support the quality management system and help build awareness of QMS practices across the organization.
- Work with the IP team on non-strategic projects when needed.
- Organize and deliver customer training sessions.
- Provide root-cause analysis and troubleshooting support.
- Maintain records of recurring problem assets or “bad actors.”
- Manage upgrade and retrofit assignments.
Required qualifications and experience
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is required.
- 3 to 5 years of technical experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, or similar industries is preferred.
- Working knowledge of pumps, including construction, commissioning, operations and maintenance, and seals.
- Strong troubleshooting ability and familiarity with root-cause analysis methods.
- Understanding of failure analysis techniques.
- Experience working in large, complex organizations.
- Good computer and IT skills, including MS Office and document management systems, plus comfort with data structures, process handling, reporting, and analysis.
- Fluent spoken and written English is necessary.
