Role Summary
This part-time or casual, on-site Draftsperson position is based in the Greater Adelaide Area. The role centers on producing accurate architectural and construction drawings for residential homes and house-and-land developments. You will ensure that all plans align with applicable building regulations, standards, and developer requirements, while also supporting smooth coordination across drafting, estimating, project management, and approvals workflows.
Key Duties
- Create detailed residential design and construction drawings for houses and house-and-land projects.
- Check that plans meet relevant building codes, compliance standards, and developer or council conditions.
- Review client instructions and convert briefs into practical, build-ready documentation.
- Work with consultants and internal stakeholders to refine designs and resolve drawing issues.
- Revise plans in response to feedback and maintain accurate version control.
- Keep project files, records, and documentation organized and up to date.
- Coordinate with estimators and project managers to support project delivery.
- Assist with planning and council submission documentation.
- Contribute ideas to improve drafting systems, documentation practices, and internal processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Hands-on capability with ArchiCAD and AutoCAD, plus strong drafting accuracy and attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of building regulations, drafting standards, and local requirements relevant to residential construction in Greater Adelaide.
- Ability to understand architectural, engineering, and survey information and turn it into clear construction documents.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills for dealing with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
- Good planning, organization, and deadline management across multiple jobs.
- A certificate or diploma in Drafting, Building Design, Architecture, or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Previous exposure to residential drafting, house-and-land packages, or volume home building is an advantage.
- A customer-focused approach, with an appetite for learning and contributing to a process-led environment.
Work Arrangement
This is an on-site role in the Greater Adelaide Area. The position is offered on a part-time or casual basis.
