About the role

Bapcor Retail is seeking a Category Assistant to join the Merchandise team. This role suits someone with retail exposure and solid analytical capability who wants to develop a career in category management. You will partner with a Category Manager to support pricing, promotions, product assortment decisions and supplier coordination across a fast-moving retail environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with category planning, promotional activity and new product introductions.
  • Support pricing work, competitor tracking and market research.
  • Prepare marketing briefs and help coordinate catalogue execution.
  • Track product results and contribute to range review processes.
  • Maintain data, reporting outputs and internal systems, including Excel and database tools.
  • Work with suppliers, store teams and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and queries.
  • Support the management of promotional inventory, clearance items and slow-moving stock.
  • Help ensure store communications are accurate and campaign information is delivered correctly.
