Job description

Role overview

This position involves steering a group of analysts to deliver long-range, forward-looking research and data-driven analysis focused on maritime security threats.

Key work areas

  • Use analytical methods to make the most of existing datasets.
  • Identify and tap into new data sources to uncover trends and deeper patterns.
  • Translate analytical findings into practical actions that strengthen maritime security.
  • Work closely with government bodies and outside stakeholders.
  • Keep the team updated on relevant tools and technologies.

Challenges in the role

  • Finding innovative and practical ways to solve problems and apply different analytical approaches.
  • Building strong collaboration across teams and agencies.

Candidate profile

  • You should have at least 6 years of experience in data science or data analysis roles, such as Section Head in Data Science, Joint Research Department, or a similar appointment.
  • Prior exposure to a multi-agency or multinational environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability is important for success in this role.
  • Knowledge of maritime terrorist threat missions will be considered an advantage.
