We are seeking a motivated hotel leader for an Assistant General Manager role at a hotel in Montreal, Quebec. The position suits someone who enjoys a fast-moving hospitality setting, takes ownership of day-to-day challenges, and is eager to contribute to both guest satisfaction and team success.
What this role involves
- Lead hotel operations with a strong focus on guest experience, service standards, and smooth daily execution.
- Support front office, housekeeping, and maintenance functions to keep the property running efficiently.
- Use labor management, forecasting, and revenue awareness to help drive operational performance.
- Coach, guide, and develop team members while setting an example through hands-on leadership.
- Build effective working relationships with guests, colleagues, ownership, and corporate partners.
- Address issues calmly, make practical decisions, and follow through until problems are resolved.
Candidate profile
The right candidate is an experienced hospitality professional who is curious, adaptable, and confident in a leadership setting. You should be comfortable balancing several priorities, maintaining a positive approach under pressure, and finding better ways to improve both guest and employee experiences.
Experience and capability requirements
- At least 3 to 5 years of progressive leadership experience in hotels, ideally within a branded property.
- Solid understanding of front office, housekeeping, and maintenance operations.
- Experience with staffing/labor planning, forecasting, and awareness of revenue impact.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving ability, including the ability to stay composed in demanding situations.
- A visible, practical leadership style that supports the team directly and leads from the front.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
- Bilingual English and French skills are a strong advantage.
