Role Summary
As Assistant Hygiene Manager, you will support the planning, supervision, and rollout of hotel hygiene and sanitation programs. The position includes inspections, oversight of cleaning practices, staff training, record management, and audit support to help maintain a safe and clean environment for guests and employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day hygiene and sanitation activities across the property.
- Make sure cleaning schedules and sanitation processes are followed correctly.
- Carry out routine hygiene checks and internal audits.
- Monitor the safe use, handling, and storage of cleaning chemicals.
- Train team members on hygiene standards, food safety, and sanitation procedures.
- Coordinate with operational teams to reduce contamination risks.
- Keep hygiene records and compliance documentation up to date.
- Assist with reviews of hygiene complaints and any non-conformance issues.
- Guide hygiene staff and third-party cleaning providers.
- Support internal and external audit activities.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement of hygiene standards and operating processes.
Qualifications
- A diploma or degree in Hospitality, Food Technology, Environmental Health, Microbiology, or a related discipline is preferred.
- At least 2 to 3 years of experience in hygiene, sanitation, or food safety roles.
- Working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and relevant food safety requirements.
- Proven ability to lead and supervise teams.
- Strong eye for detail and solid organizational skills.
- Clear communication and effective teamwork abilities.
