Job Summary
Resorts World Sentosa is hiring an Assistant Manager, Mechanical Engineer to strengthen the reliability, safety, and overall engineering performance of rides and show systems at Universal Studios Singapore. The role covers troubleshooting, maintenance planning, and ride improvement initiatives, while helping ensure that all equipment operates safely and meets required standards. You will also collaborate with OEM partners and technical teams to support smooth and dependable park operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive engineering validation, reliability-centered maintenance studies, and configuration control for amusement rides and show equipment.
- Take the lead on installation work, complex troubleshooting, and reliability upgrades for ride and show systems, including mechanical parts, structures, pneumatics, hydraulics, gas systems, and related components.
- Manage major ride enhancement projects from initial scope definition through to final approval stages; prior project management experience will be helpful.
- Help develop maintenance programs that support the safety and dependability of theme park attractions.
- Oversee testing activities for rides and shows to confirm alignment with requirements from local and overseas regulatory authorities.
- Draft engineering reports and drawings using CAD tools such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks, and carry out mechanical analysis to assess ride safety and reliability.
- Act as the primary contact for OEMs on matters related to ride and show safety and reliability.
- Carry out critical inspections and condition surveys to complement regular inspections completed by other teams.
- Support engineering change management and review service bulletins as part of ongoing equipment governance.
- Work with amusement ride safety rules and requirements issued by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA).
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Oil & Gas environments.
Additional Requirements and Working Conditions
- Proficiency in engineering analysis and the use of 3D CAD software, including AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Exposure to fabrication, machining, and welding will be considered an advantage.
- Must be available to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Role requires comfort working at heights and willingness to ride attractions periodically to carry out quality checks.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a varied technical team.
