Adani Total Gas Limited (ATGL) is a major player in India’s natural gas distribution space and is a joint venture between Adani Group and TotalEnergies. The company develops City Gas Distribution networks that supply Piped Natural Gas to domestic, commercial, and industrial customers, and Compressed Natural Gas to the transport sector. ATGL also supports renewable energy work through Adani TotalEnergies Biomass Limited, its wholly owned subsidiary focused on biogas development in India.
Role Objective
The role is focused on providing technical input and hands-on support for CNG project execution. The incumbent will help ensure that engineering work follows the approved design, safety expectations, and quality standards, while monitoring site progress, resolving technical challenges, and keeping project records accurate and current to support timely delivery.
Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end delivery of CNG projects, including site readiness, equipment installation, and commissioning, while keeping work aligned with planned milestones and timelines.
- Work with the Projects Lead to ensure engineering execution matches design requirements, safety norms, and quality expectations.
- Carry out site visits and inspections to track progress, spot issues early, and confirm compliance with technical specifications.
- Create, review, and refresh engineering drawings, technical documents, and project schedules with accuracy and in line with industry standards.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure materials and services arrive when needed for project completion.
- Provide technical troubleshooting support during the project lifecycle and help resolve engineering issues as they arise.
- Interpret drawings, data, and specifications to guide decisions and keep work moving smoothly.
- Apply practical engineering solutions to site-level challenges while minimizing impact on timelines and budget.
- Contribute to process improvements and engineering best practices that strengthen efficiency, safety, and project quality.
- Take part in technical discussions and review meetings and share inputs to improve outcomes.
- Track quality standards across all project stages and ensure work continues to meet required specifications.
- Conduct inspections and tests on materials, equipment, and systems to validate compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
- Record quality deviations or non-conformities and work with the team on corrective actions to avoid repeat issues.
- Assist in shaping quality assurance procedures and ensure they are followed throughout execution.
- Make sure all engineering activity complies with applicable local, regional, and national safety regulations and industry standards.
- Support safety audits and inspections, identify hazards, and help implement risk-reduction measures.
- Contribute to the preparation and use of safety protocols, risk assessments, method statements, and safety plans.
- Keep project records current, including drawings, technical specs, progress updates, and inspection logs.
- Prepare periodic status updates for the Projects Lead, covering achievements, blockers, and attention points.
- Support as-built documentation at project closure so final records reflect the completed work accurately.
- Work with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to maintain effective communication and coordination.
- Attend project meetings and provide updates on engineering progress and execution issues.
- Interact with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to close technical gaps and align on objectives and timelines.
- Explain technical details clearly to non-engineering colleagues so project needs and constraints are understood.
- Stay updated on engineering methods, technologies, and standards relevant to PNG and CNG projects.
- Look for ways to improve project execution processes and contribute ideas that enhance performance.
- Participate in training and development to expand technical capability and support long-term growth.
