Role Overview
EnhancU is hiring a full-time Assistant Project Manager for its Ft. Lauderdale office in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area. The role supports the delivery of luxury commercial construction projects throughout the Southeast by working closely with Project Managers and Site Superintendents on execution, subcontractor coordination, vendor purchase orders, estimates, logs, and schedule/budget control.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project kickoff and coordinate with field teams so all internal groups are aligned from the start.
- Help secure permits and approvals, including trips to local municipalities to speed up reviews and reduce delays.
- Assist with subcontractor scope and price negotiations, and prepare subcontract agreements with the required terms.
- Work with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and subcontractors to build and maintain the project schedule.
- Arrange and monitor deliveries of materials, equipment, and supplies so they arrive on time.
- Draft, review, and track RFIs, submittals, and RFPs to keep information moving accurately and promptly.
- Maintain all project records, including schedules, logs, subcontracts, RFIs, shop drawings, permits, inspections, purchase orders, COIs, change orders, and plans.
- Manage the change-order process end to end, including preparing and issuing CORs, tracking pending and approved changes, and reviewing budget impact.
- Keep project files organized so information stays current, complete, and easy to access.
- Prepare weekly status reports and join internal and external coordination meetings.
- Support closeout activities such as as-built drawings, punch lists, warranties, turnover packages, subcontractor closeout items, and final billing support.
- Take ownership of small, low-complexity projects when assigned.
- Spot potential problems early and work with the team on practical solutions.
- Provide general support to the management team as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent mix of education, training, and work experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in commercial construction; background with a commercial general contractor is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and responsibility matrices.
- Clear communication skills and a team-oriented, problem-solving mindset.
- Fluency in English; Spanish proficiency is an added advantage.
- Strong command of MS Office tools, especially Excel and Word, plus project scheduling software; ProCore experience is preferred.
- Strong planning, organization, and deadline-management skills, including the ability to perform under pressure.
- Self-driven, resourceful, and proactive in identifying and resolving issues.
- Comfortable supporting project financial tracking and maintaining detailed records.
- High attention to detail, consistency, and follow-through in a fast-moving environment.
- Able to complete tasks efficiently and look for ways to improve productivity.
- Responsive to direction and able to follow management instructions well.
