Role Overview

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support the Project Manager across a range of project coordination tasks. The role centers on organizing and planning construction activity at job sites so that project goals are achieved on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support client relationship development and help strengthen ongoing partnerships.
  • Coordinate purchasing, procurement, subcontracts, submittals, and project schedules.
  • Oversee project progress through the direction of the site superintendent and other field and office staff to help ensure quality delivery on schedule and within budget.
  • Help manage project profitability.
  • Build productive working relationships with project teams, clients, vendors, subcontractors, and others involved in the work.
  • Review and process submittals.
  • Handle subcontractor proposal requests, scope reviews, and subcontract issuance.
  • Assist in tracking field and subcontractor schedule progress.
  • Issue major purchase orders.
  • Contribute to safety program coordination and jobsite safety reviews.
  • Manage project-related correspondence.
  • Spot future project opportunities and network internally and externally to pursue them.
  • Support project closeout activities.
  • Model and reinforce the company’s core values through day-to-day project execution.

Job Scope

The work scope may range from a single large project to several smaller projects at the same time.

Education and Experience

A bachelor’s degree in Construction Science Management, Architectural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering is preferred. However, equivalent technical training combined with relevant experience may also be considered.

The role calls for 4 to 6 years of technical or administrative experience in HVAC, piping, and plumbing within commercial, industrial, or institutional environments.

Work Environment and Travel

This position requires regular travel by car to project sites and involves work in both office and jobsite settings. Depending on project requirements and location, temporary assignment or relocation may be necessary.

Physical duties may include walking on uneven ground, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, lifting, sitting, standing, and frequent use of a phone, keyboard, and computer monitor.

Compensation and Benefits

The stated annual pay range for this role is USD 80,154 to USD 113,218. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as internal equity, experience, education, specialization, and training.

In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for a year-end bonus tied to company and/or individual performance, along with paid time off. The benefits package includes health, dental, and vision coverage, matching retirement contributions, and matching 529 contributions.
